Zenbuddhistiska Samfundet was founded in 1982 when Philip Kapleau-roshi visited Stockholm. We are part of "The Cloud-Water Sangha" founded by Roshi Kapleaus successor Bodhin Kjolhede-roshi. Samfundet is headed by Sante Poromaa-sensei and Kanja Odland-sensei and follows the tradition of the japanese zen-master Sogaku Harada Roshi, developed in the west by Roshi Kapleau and Sensei Kjolhede. We are an organisation that wishes to offer members a possibility and a space to practice zazen together and also study buddhism. We offer group zazen mornings and evenings, organizes lectures, workshops, all day sittings and sesshins (zen retreats).
