Kanja Sensei och Sante Sensei |
| Sante Poromaa was born in 1958 in Kiruna. In the beginning of the eighties he met Philip Kapleau-roshi and became his student. Later when Roshi Kapleau went into semi-retirement, Sante also became a student of Kapleau's successor Bodhin Kjolhede-roshi. After years of training with these teachers and an ordination as a Zen priest, Sensei Kjolhede appointed Poromaa as teacher at Zenbuddhistiska samfundet. Sante-sensei finished his koan training in 1993, and was appointed Sensei (teacher) by Bodhin-sensei in 1998. Sante has earlier studied art and worked as an artist. Kanja Odland was born in Stockholm 1963. In 1984 she met Philip Kapleau-roshi. She also became a student of Kjolhede-roshi. Since the beginning of 1990 she has been co-leader of Zenbuddhistiska Samfundet. She finished her koan training in 1999, and was appointed sensei by Kjolhede-roshi in 2001. In August 2006 she received Inka (Dharma transmission) from Bodhin Kjolhede-roshi. Since 1995, Kanja has worked full-time for Zenbuddhistiska Samfundet.
